The Royal Australian Mint presents the 2027 Year of the Goat $5 1oz Fine Silver Proof Domed Coin.

The Goat is the eighth of the twelve signs in the Chinese zodiac. According to legend, twelve animals participated in a race across a river to allow the Jade Emperor to establish the order of the zodiac signs. The Goat finished in eighth place, followed by the Monkey and the Rooster; the three animals had worked together to cross the river on a raft. People born in the Year of the Goat are said to be creative and compassionate.

The reverse design depicts a goat against a backdrop of persimmons, which symbolise prosperity and good fortune. The obverse features an ornate representation of the lunar calendar bordering the Daniel Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III. Crafted in the Mint's world-renowned domed shape with a stunning proof finish, the coin is presented in a presentation case with outer box and numbered certificate of authenticity.
